1. Donation recipient
The client nonprofit identified at checkout is the donation recipient and merchant of record. RaiseRace supplies software and may collect the disclosed application fee. Stripe processes the payment through the nonprofit’s connected account and pays proceeds according to the nonprofit’s Stripe settings.
2. Amount and transaction costs
Checkout displays the donation amount, any optional transaction-cost coverage, and the total charge before payment. Transaction-cost coverage is optional and unchecked by default. It does not increase the donation amount used for campaign totals, contest votes, rankings, or tax acknowledgments.
3. Payment confirmation
Submitting a payment or returning to a confirmation page does not establish payment success. RaiseRace updates receipts, votes, leaderboards, and collected totals after verified confirmation from Stripe. Pending, failed, refunded, reversed, or disputed payments are treated according to their verified status.
4. Receipts and taxes
The nonprofit determines its tax status, whether a donation is deductible, the value of any goods or services provided, and the content of charitable acknowledgments. A RaiseRace or Stripe payment receipt is a transaction record and not tax advice or a guarantee of deductibility.
5. Donation Voting and public choices
Donation Voting may assign a disclosed number of votes to each confirmed whole donated dollar. This affects contest ranking only and never purchases a random chance or prize. Optional transaction-cost coverage creates no votes.
Public name, public message, and permission for organizer contact are separate choices and are off by default. Transaction, fraud, tax, receipt, consent, and audit records may be retained even when public display is removed.
6. Refunds and agreement
Refund requests are governed by the Refund and Cancellation Policy. By checking the required acceptance box and continuing to payment, you accept the version of these Donor Terms, the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Refund and Cancellation Policy presented at checkout.
